Turkish Delight Gin

Turkish Delight

We were given a beautiful bouquet of roses and as they faded we created a wonderful rose water to keep the memory of their beauty alive in smell and taste!

The flavour can best be compared to the little ‘sweet nothing candies’ made popular by the Chronicles of Narnia films.

Cotton Candy Gin

COTTON CANDY

This was a fun gin to make.  The sight of a cotton candy machine makes our hearts skip a beat and immediately brings the taste of sugar melting in our mouths; memories of the sweet smell of cooking sugar and little wisps of nothing on your tongue, roll over your palate as you sip.

The unique and amazing ‘cotton candy grapes’ are the inspiration for this flavour.

Honey Gin

honey

While touring an apiary we were intrigued and inspired by the swarms of bees working tirelessly to create their sweet and golden nectar. It was a bit tricky to incorporate honey in our gin without it burning or turning the gin black but, taking more inspiration from the bees, we kept working!

Fruity, floral and herbaceous tones overlay layers of spice, nut and earth tones. No one can say that this is ‘just’ a sweet gin and, of course, the colour is extraordinary!

Strawberry & Mango Gin

STRAWBERRY & MANGO

Our part of the country is known for the production of wonderful fruit; we support local farmers and a visit to a mango producing farm led to the creation of this delicious combination.

We have incorporated the wonderful smell of ripe fruit together with the flavours of mango, strawberry, hibiscus, orange leaves, orange peel and rosehip to finish with a sweet, but still botanical and fruity gin.

Raspberry & Indigenous flowers gin

Raspberry & indigenous flowers

At first we actually followed the grazing rhinos around and picked the flowers they chose to eat; now we source the flowers from local flower markets and choose indigenous flowers that are in season (so that we can leave something for the rhinos to enjoy).

The raspberries, grown on a farm in the heart of the Wolkberg add a sour yet sweet taste to the gin.

Naartjie Gin

NAARTJIE

This gin tastes like summer and is a personal favourite. Orange-red naartjies with a thin rind and a delicious tartly sweet taste present a rich citrus and spicy flavour. We use locally sourced naartjie peel, orange leaves and zest.

Raspberry & Indigenous flowers gin

blueberry

Subtle aromas of freshly picked mountain blueberry sweetness, layered with local botanicals. A tribute to the clear waters of the Haenertsburg and Magoebaskloof surroundings. Best enjoyed with a classic tonic and fresh blueberries.
